The
Giclee printers
spray over 1 million droplets per second onto the
selected substrate, which is higher than a traditional
lithographic print and has a wider color gamut than
serigraphy. There are no screens used with this method
of reproduction hence, Giclee Prints render deep,
saturated colors and have a beautiful painterly quality
that retains minute detail, subtle tints and blends.
The preciseness of the printing along with the depth
of color range captures the subtleties and nuances
of an original image be it watercolor, oil or acrylic.
The inks used to create these prints usually boast
an archival life of over 100 years!
Michael
Smiroldo 's giclees are over seen by the artist himself,
he personally proofs and ajust each new giclee to
his desired perfection.
Once
Michael accepts these images, it is then that he personally
applies his imposto formiular, that he hand treats
with the same strokes as the paintings themselves,
this brings his giclees far from the flat plain images
of the process itself, and into a more orginal visual
world of textured giclees.
